E. Eddy, Tragedian

Edward Eddy (1821–1875) was an American actor and theatre manager. He performed in Albany, Baltimore, and Boston, in roles such as Laertes, Edgar and Macduff, but according to one account “did not succeed in impressing his audiences favorably”. In 1851 he moved to New York and became manager of several well-known theaters, including he Metropolitan, Burton’s Chambers Street Theater, the Old Bowery and the Old Broadway.
