New Orleans Serenaders

Very little is known about the New Orleans Serenaders, although the group is credited on several pieces of sheet music collected in the Library of Congress. They're recorded in one account as participating in “The First Banjo Contest”, held in New York City on October 19, 1857, a promotional event created by banjo-maker Charles Morrell.
